The visual arts curriculum at St. Cassian School exposes students to a variety of art media, the basic elements of art and design as well as various artists and art history. In the elementary grades, experiences are provided through drawing, watercolor, water-based paint, clay and a variety of mixed media. In the middle grades, a deeper understanding of art concepts and the artists is developed while exploring drawing, painting, sculpting, graphic design and photography.
Recently, we celebrated the spectacular works of art of our students in the America the Beautiful Art Show held in Larkin Hall. The gallery included the original visual arts creations of our students in pre-K through eighth grade. We are grateful to Mrs. Marigene Rafferty, our arts facilitator, for inspiring our students to explore the arts in meaningful ways. We would also like to thank our staff and parent volunteers, who helped bring the gallery to life, the parish staff for their patience and support and all the parishioners and friends of St. Cassian School and Parish, who visited and supported the gallery.
