As part of our Artist and Scholars in Residence Program, we welcome professionals or experts in different fields to help bring authentic experiences and real life learning to our students. This Fall, we welcomed several guests through this program.
Mrs. Monica Caldwell, a parent to three of our students and employee for the company that supplies the helium for the Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons, provided an informative and interesting presentation on the use of natural gas, especially helium. Her presentation provided many photos and fun facts, and it was truly enjoyed by our second through eighth grade students.
Mr. Frank Fernandez, Miss Jeannette Fernandez and Ozzie Llanes continued the tulip planting tradition started by parishioner Agnes Dembia. They taught our preschoolers and kindergarteners the process of planting fall bulbs and helped them to do their own planting. The students are now waiting with anticipation for the spring blooms when they will water and care for them. Mr. Fernandez is the grandfather of two St. Cassian students and Miss Fernandez their aunt. Mr. Llanes is the husband of our principal and grandfather of two St. Cassian Students.
We are grateful for the time each person has taken to share their time, talent and expertise with our students! Thank you all!
